The Clairidge is a six-screen, non-profit cinema located in Montclair Center, operated by Montclair Film. It shows a curated selection of first-run art house, independent, documentary, classic, and foreign language films. Originally opened in 1922 as a single-screen movie palace, it has since expanded and was reopened by Montclair Film in 2021. The venue screens films year-round and frequently hosts special events, Q&As with filmmakers, and community gatherings. Beyond film screenings, The Clairidge serves as a cultural hub, hosting various community events such as art exhibitions and discussions on social issues, aiming to foster dialogue and creativity within Montclair's diverse population. Screens are also available for rent for private events.
