[MILL Senior Friday] World of Film with Mark Phelan

Join us on Fridays for a day full of events for Seniors with the MILL @ MPL! All events are free and open to the public. Registration is recommended unless otherwise noted. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) | NR Lorelei Lee is a beautiful showgirl engaged to be married to the wealthy Gus Esmond, much to the disapproval of Gus rich father, Esmond Sr., who thinks that Lorelei is just after his money. When Lorelei goes on a cruise accompanied only by her best friend, Dorothy Shaw, Esmond Sr. hires Ernie Malone, a private detective, to follow her and report any questionable behavior that would disqualify her from the marriage. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR MARK PHELAN - I am a lifelong film fanatic who eats, breathes, sleeps and drinks movies. I have studied with Donald Spoto at the New School in NYC and have a BA and MA in Speech and Theatre from MSU. I have also worked as an actor and have directed several plays in local regional and community theaters, including the Whole Theatre in Montclair and the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. I am currently working as an adjunct professor teaching, among other courses, Introduction to Cinema. HOW TO REGISTER This class is run by the MILL.
