Details:
Join Horticulturist Jayton Howard for the "Xeriscaping for Central Virginia" program at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. This event will explore the principles of xeriscaping, focusing on creating lower maintenance and resilient gardens suitable for the region, rather than the common notion of rocky landscapes or solely drought-tolerant plants. Participants will learn practical techniques to support diverse and attractive plantings, enhancing sustainability in their gardens. The program includes a tour of the Garden, showcasing examples such as the new Sunrise Gardens in front of the Conservatory. Attendees will also receive a native plant to kickstart their own xeriscaping projects at home. Fees are $37 for members and $46 for non-members. Pre-registration is required, and accommodations can be requested for better accessibility.
