Details:
Build a traditional wood breadbox that is both a useful and attractive piece for your kitchen counter. This breadbox has a decorative punched tin panel which allows airflow while also protecting your staples from dust and pests. Students will also have many other panel options (i.e. punched metal, wood, or even galvanized hardware cloth) to truly make it their own. In this workshop, participants will be guided through all the steps required to measure, cut, and assemble a solid wood box, prepare and install decorative panels, and finish their piece with a food-safe treatment. Your finished breadbox won’t just look great, but is also convenient and functional. This workshop is open to those who have completed a MakerSphere woodworking course OR have some experience and comfort level using common shop tools.
Instructor Dave Day is the owner of D.A. Day Inc. Fine Cabinetmakers in Stowe. Dave has decades of experience creating custom home furnishings as well as giving new life to pieces by incorporating architectural salvage items, a favorite heirloom or other prized elements.
