Celebrating America 250! Ohio Outdoors: Exploring Ohio’s Natural Resources
Join Naturalist Aide, Jesse Oestreich from The Ohio Department of Natural Resources for a nature hike at Van Buren State Park.
This guided hike will follow the Haiku Path to the Red Trail. Along the way, hikers will learn about the dam, local biodiversity, and the importance of different species and local flora found in the area. If visible, songbirds and woodpeckers will be included as part of the experience.
This is a 1+ mile long hike with uneven terrain. Suitable for ages 8 and up. It is strongly recommended that you wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing, and bug spray. Please bring a water bottle.
We will meet at Van Buren State Park-Shelter House #2. 12259 Township Road 218, Van Buren, OH 45889. Specific Location of shelter at: Lat./Lng. 41.13422, -83.63658
Further information will be emailed to registrants the week of the hike.
Registration is required and begins on May 4th. Register via the online calendar or by calling the Information Desk at 419-422-1712, Option 2.
