Bill Memorial Library

The Bill Memorial Library, founded by Frederic Bill in 1888 and dedicated in 1890, is a full-service public library located in Historic Groton Bank, Connecticut. Its mission is to serve the community's needs in a welcoming and unique historic setting by stimulating imagination, providing resources for lifelong learning, inspiring young patrons, and connecting to the online world. Originally established as both a library and a natural history museum, it still displays artifacts collected by its founder. The library offers a wide range of materials including novels, non-fiction, large print books, DVDs, audiobooks, and downloadable ebooks and audiobooks. It also provides access to newspapers, magazines, study space, and public computers. Dedicated children's and young adult rooms offer age-appropriate collections and resources. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, it relies on private funding and participates in statewide library initiatives for interlibrary loan and reciprocal borrowing.
