It’s making a shelter animal’s day, building community, and becoming part of something bigger than yourself. When you volunteer at ARF, you are: Walking dogs who have been waiting all day for you Helping socialize cats & kittens and watch their confidence grow Creating a welcoming feel to our Adoption Center Supporting ARF’s adoption and community events Assisting at our Thrift & Treasure Shop Lending your skills in creative ways that help animals find forever homes Giving second chances to animals who deserve them So, what makes volunteering at ARF different than most shelters? Flexibility. Real flexibility. Once you complete the volunteer orientation, you can sign up for an hour or ten. It is up to you! While we would love to see you as often as possible, we understand that lives are busy and schedules are jam packed. We believe a flexible commitment allows you to fit us into your life whenever you can, without pressure, without guilt, and without long term contracts, and we truly appreciate any time you have to offer. No experience? We will train you. Love animals? You already qualify. Volunteering has been shown to reduce stress, boost happiness, and connect you with incredible, like-minded people.
