Railroad Days returns to Pullman National Historical Park Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26!
Presented by Alstom, this year we're celebrating 100 years of electrified rail in Chicago. In cooperation with Metra and the Illinois Railway Museum, the historic Pullman-built electric cars that transformed how Chicago moved are coming home, and you can step aboard and walk through a century of stories.
Your ticket gets you inside the historic railcars, and a full day of free programming surrounds them:
- Hands-on STEAM fair for all ages
- Walking tours of Pullman town
- Rides on CPKC's Puffer Belly Express
- Live music sponsored by Goodman Theatre
- Model A car display (Saturday ONLY)
- Food trucks and vendors
- Talks at Greenstone Church
On Sunday only, don't miss WTTW's Geoffrey Baer in conversation with former Federal Railroad Administrator Joseph C. Szabo at 3 PM, reflecting on his PBS special Riding the Rails and Chicago's rise as the railroad capital of North America.
Advance tickets are just $20 through July 24, then $25 day-of. Kids under 12 are free but need a ticket for the railcar tours, so add them at checkout.
Tour capacity is limited, so grab yours now!
