Details:
Join us for a special ceremony honoring Revolutionary War soldiers Thomas Bay of Cumberland and David Findley of New Concord, with participating SAR and DAR members and distinguished guests as graves are marked with commemorative plaques. The morning will include ceremonies at two separate communities.
The first event begins at 10:00 a.m. at Cumberland Cemetery, 559 N. Church Street, Cumberland, Guernsey County. Then a processional will head over to New Concord.
The second ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m., at Crooked Creek Cemetery, (Union Township) 502 Rix Mills Road New Concord, Muskingum County, Ohio 43762, followed by lunch at Georgetown Tavern on the Hill, 62920 Georgetown Road, Cambridge.
What to expect: light breakfast, color guard, processional, invocation, plaque unveiling, wreath laying, patriotic music, guest speakers, an honor guard, gun salute, taps and flag-waving.
