Join us for a series of art exhibitions celebrating local talent and creativity within the community. The Annual Art Show from Covington Middle School and Alleghany High School will display students' artistic works on May 3, featuring a reception from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, open to all art students, parents, and community members. The exhibit is free and will remain accessible during regular business hours: Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Sundays from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Additionally, from May 1 to July 10, the Historic Masonic Theatre will host the VA250 quilt exhibit in the WestRock Room, showcasing 38 handcrafted quilts from local artisans. The exhibit pays tribute to the community spirit and includes 19 specially made Quilts of Valor, given to honor veterans and service members. Visitors can experience this powerful art form Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with availability calls recommended.
Lastly, the Fx2: Regional Photo Exhibit will run from November 13 to December 26, highlighting the unique perspectives of area photographers. Visitors can vote for their favorite works in the People’s Choice Award and enjoy a special reception on November 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center. Admission to all events is free, inviting everyone to appreciate the artistry and stories within our community.
