Details:
Join the Trailkeepers of Oregon (TKO) for the Mount Tabor Stairs Installation in Portland and other community trail maintenance events. Participants will engage in hands-on work to enhance local trails by installing nine timber box steps with railings along a short 0.2-mile, low-intensity hike at Mount Tabor. Led by Crew Leader Susan S., volunteers will excavate, level timbers, and compact gravel while enjoying the scenic beauty of the area.
In addition, help rehabilitate trails at Eagle Fern County Park with Crew Leaders Pat K. and Elaine K. on a 1-mile moderate hike featuring a 300-foot elevation gain. Participants will work to extend switchbacks and clear logs.
For those seeking a more challenging experience, join Hope McKee on the Angel's Rest Trail, which involves clearing brush along a demanding 5-mile trail with a 1500-foot elevation gain.
All events prioritize safety, inclusivity, and respect for Indigenous lands. TKO supplies essential equipment and encourages participants to reach out for gear loans or accommodations. Detailed meeting information will be provided via email 48 hours before each event. Join us in preserving Oregon's beautiful trails while enjoying the outdoors!
