**Event: Larch Mtn Trail - Gorge Repair Day**
Join us for a community effort to repair this popular hiking trail, which has experienced significant damage. Under the leadership of Crew Leader Hope McKee, we invite a maximum of 12 volunteers to participate in this rewarding project. The event will include a challenging hike of approximately 3 miles, featuring an elevation gain of 800 feet, where we will trek up the steep Multnomah Falls switchbacks to our worksite near Weisendagner Falls.
The main focus of our efforts will be on curb log installation and repairing the damaged tread, crucial for shoring up the trail's outer edge. It's important to commit to the entirety of the trail party, as late arrivals or early departures will not be permitted for safety reasons.
Participants should come equipped with plenty of water, snacks or lunch, work gloves (if available; loaner gloves will be provided), emergency supplies, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a sturdy pack. Wear sturdy boots, long-sleeved shirts, and pants suitable for the weather conditions. TKO will provide all necessary tools and personal protective equipment.
We acknowledge that this trail traverses land traditionally cared for by Indigenous tribes and communities, and we honor their ongoing stewardship. To facilitate inclusivity, TKO is committed to making this event accessible for people of all backgrounds and abilities. Please reach out in advance if you require accommodations.
Your safety—both physical and emotional—is our priority. If you encounter any discomfort during the event, please communicate with crew leaders or TKO staff. While masks are not required, we support participants who choose to wear them.
Detailed information, including directions to the meeting location, will be sent to registrants via email 48 hours before the event. We look forward to having you join us in restoring the Larch Mtn Trail—your help is vital in keeping our trails safe and enjoyable for all!
