Details:
Join us for the Gold Beach Mobility Mat Installation event at the Gold Beach Visitor Center, where you can help Trailkeepers of Oregon (TKO) unroll and install a mobility mat on the beach access trail. Crew Leader Trevor B. will oversee the project, which accommodates a maximum of 10 volunteers. The hike to the beach is a short distance of 1,000 feet with low intensity for both hiking and work.
Participants are encouraged to bring plenty of water, snacks or lunch, personal work gloves (loaner gloves provided), any necessary medications or emergency supplies, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a pack to carry your items. Please wear sturdy boots (open-toed shoes are not allowed) along with long sleeves and pants, and dress appropriately for the weather.
Event details, including directions to the meeting location, will be emailed to registrants 48 hours prior. First-time volunteers are encouraged to read a blog by experienced volunteers to better understand what to expect.
TKO is committed to inclusivity, and accommodations can be discussed by completing a short survey prior to the event. We acknowledge that the trails traverse the traditional lands of Indigenous tribes and communities and support their stewardship and ongoing presence. Our priority is your safety and comfort; any concerns about conduct or comments can be reported to TKO staff or crew leaders. While masks are not required, we respect individuals' choices to wear them for safety. Come join us in making a meaningful impact in the community!
