**Event Description: Cape Mountain Trail Party - Central Coast**
Join the Trailkeepers of Oregon (TKO) for a community-focused trail restoration event at the Cape Mountain Trail. Participants will work together to restore the trail surface from the Dry Lake Trailhead, engaging in tread maintenance to ensure the trail's original corridor is preserved. Led by Crew Leader Noelle, this event welcomes a maximum of 8 volunteers for a low to moderate intensity hike of up to 2 miles with an elevation gain of 300 feet.
During the event, volunteers will enjoy a gentle-paced hike while carrying tools and packs, followed by a break for lunch amidst the beautiful forest landscape. Attendees are required to participate for the entirety of the event for safety reasons.
Participants should come prepared with ample water, lunch/snacks, work gloves (loaner gloves available), and any personal medications or emergency supplies. Proper attire includes sturdy boots, long-sleeved shirts and pants, and weather-appropriate gear, as open-toed shoes and tennis shoes are not permitted.
TKO acknowledges that the trails traverse traditional lands of many Indigenous tribes, and encourages respect for these spaces and support for Indigenous communities. The organization is committed to inclusivity and safety for all participants, and accommodations can be arranged as needed.
Event details, including location directions, will be emailed to registrants 48 hours prior to the event. For first-time volunteers, TKO provides a blog to prepare you for your experience. Join us in stewardship and community spirit as we enhance the trail for all!
