Details:
Join the Cape Mountain Trail Party on the Central Coast with TKO for a community-oriented day of fun and restoration as we work on the trail surface from Dry Lake Trailhead. Led by Crew Leader Noelle, the event has a maximum crew size of 8 and involves a low to moderate hike of up to 2 miles with an elevation gain of 300 feet. Participants will engage in moderate tread maintenance work, using digging tools to restore the trail's original surface while enjoying the beautiful forest landscape.
It's essential to commit to the entire event, as late arrivals and early departures are not permitted for safety reasons. Detailed information, including meeting location directions, will be emailed to registrants two days prior to the event.
What to bring: ample water, snacks/lunch, work gloves, personal medications, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a sturdy pack. TKO provides tools and personal protective equipment, with loaner gear available upon request. Dress appropriately in sturdy boots, long sleeves, and weather-appropriate layers.
TKO acknowledges the traditional Indigenous lands of the trails we work on and aims to create an inclusive environment for volunteers of all backgrounds and abilities. For accommodation requests or inquiries about inclusivity, please complete a short survey ahead of time.
Safety is a priority, and TKO encourages participants to report any uncomfortable situations or comments. Though masking and vaccination are no longer required, we support those who choose to mask and ask for respect towards everyone's health choices. Join us in making a positive impact on our trails and fostering connection within nature and community!
