Details:
Join Trailkeepers of Oregon (TKO) for a three-day, self-supported backcountry service trip in the Table Rock Wilderness to perform crosscut logouts. Led by Crew Leader Josh Durham, this event allows a maximum of 12 participants to hike 3-4 miles with an elevation gain of approximately 1500 feet, classified as hard in hiking intensity and moderate in work intensity.
Participants will be backpacking to a campsite in an unburned section of the trail, working primarily on removing fallen logs from designated wilderness areas using crosscut saws. This includes some limited recertification opportunities. The trail has been affected by the 2020 Beachie Creek Fire, featuring steep climbs and varying shade due to the burned areas.
Essentials for participants include appropriate sleeping, cooking, and water filtration gear, along with enough food for three days. TKO provides necessary tools and personal protective equipment. Attendees are required to arrive on time and stay for the entire event.
To ensure an inclusive environment, TKO acknowledges the traditional lands of Indigenous tribes and welcomes requests for accommodations. The organization is committed to promoting equity and safety for all participants, emphasizing respectful conduct and personal well-being during the event. Detailed directions and additional information will be sent out via email 48 hours prior to the event.
