Details:
Join us for an exciting summer at the Upcountry History Museum as we celebrate "Picturing America's Pastime: Baseball," running from June 27, 2026, to January 2027. This unique exhibition, organized by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, showcases the deep-rooted connection between baseball and photography through a remarkable collection of over 50,000 images. Featuring fifty-one rarely seen photographs that span from 1866 to 2012, the exhibit highlights the evolution of baseball and includes intriguing stories about both the players and photographers, commemorating legends like Greenville's own Shoeless Joe Jackson.
To kick off the exhibition on opening day, we invite families to our "Family Fun Day" where children can step into the world of history with characters from the PBS Kids series "Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum." Enjoy hands-on games, creative crafts, a scavenger hunt, and group story time, all designed to inspire kids about real-life heroes and their impactful stories.
Admission is $14 for adults, $13 for senior adults (65+) and college students, $10 for children ages 3-18, and free for children ages 2 and under. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM. Don’t miss this opportunity for a fun-filled adventure at the intersection of baseball history and family engagement!
