**Lunchbox Learning: Life Growing Up in a Small Textile Village in the 1940s and 1950s**
Join us for an engaging presentation by Larry Candler, who will share his firsthand experiences of growing up in Lockhart, SC, a small textile village during the 1940s and 1950s. This event will explore the close-knit communities centered around textile mills, which were instrumental in the war efforts on the home front during World War II. Attendees will gain insight into the daily realities of life in a mill town, including its sights, sounds, joys, and hardships. After graduating from Clemson University in 1963, Candler pursued a successful career in aerospace engineering and consulting before dedicating himself to lifelong learning through the OLLI program at Furman. This event is generously sponsored by Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd.
