Details:
Have you ever wondered what the nonprofit Arc of Appalachia really does, how it began, and what it looks like “on the ground” today? Would you like an opportunity to more intimately understand the Arc’s mission and principles, and meet some of the many people responsible for the Arc’s remarkable growth and achievements? Whether you are new to the Arc or a longtime supporter, this experience will be meaningful for you! Although geared to adults, families with children are welcome, and we will make sure the youngsters feel included and acknowledged.
Participants will:
Arc Outreach Coordinator Kim Baker is your host for the day. Kim found the gateway to the Arc of Appalachia when she and her husband, David, were determined to save and protect a beautiful gorge that was in their “back yard.” Today, that land is now the Arc’s beloved Quiverheart Gorge Preserve. Kim’s story is representative of the many human-wrought miracles behind the Arc’s spectacular landscapes. We promise that you will leave the day with new friends, and you will be inspired to become part of the Arc of Appalachia’s story!
This event is free, but does require registration. Please register each attendee separately.
