The Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, located on the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay campus, is a premier venue dedicated to presenting a diverse array of cultural, entertainment, and educational performing arts to the Northeastern Wisconsin community. Established in 1993 and named after the university's founding chancellor, Edward W. Weidner, the center serves as a vital hub for both university and community artistic endeavors. It features the elegant and acoustically excellent 2,021-seat Cofrin Family Hall, along with smaller performance spaces like the Jean Weidner Theatre and Fort Howard Hall. The Weidner hosts a wide spectrum of events, from Broadway tours and concerts by renowned artists to local ensembles, theatrical productions, and educational programs such as the Stage Doors series. The center also boasts significant artwork, including a Dale Chihuly chandelier, and is home to the Weidner Philharmonic, an all-professional symphony orchestra. Its mission is to entertain and enrich the community, evolving with its changing demographics and fostering a collaborative spirit between the university and its surrounding region.
