The Brown County Library system, established in 1968, is Wisconsin's first county-wide library system. Its mission is to be a place for information, entertainment, community, and culture, serving as an agent of opportunity that empowers individuals and strengthens the region. The library provides free, equitable access to resources and services, offers welcoming spaces with expert staff, and designs early learning and literacy programs for children and families. It supports lifelong learning, invests in technology to bridge digital gaps, and celebrates diversity and inclusivity. The system includes Central Library, eight branches, and a bookmobile, serving over 80% of Brown County households and circulating over 2.3 million materials annually.
