It’s Time for a Harvest! Fall Harvest Celebration at the Granville’s Farmers Market, Kids petting zoo, and autumn harvest activities. Celebrating the importance of Agriculture to America and Granville.
Historical Agriculture and Farming Fun Facts – The 1805 settlers reached Granville in ox-drawn wagons and used oxen as the primary draft and farming animals. Oxen were chosen for their strength and steadiness in heavy pulling, lower cost and feed needs, and better performance on rough, muddy, or hilly terrain. Agriculture remains a vital part of the Granville economy. Granville’s Farmers Market was established and sponsored by the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce. The market with over 50 vendors is celebrating its 32nd year of providing delicious foods and an opportunity to shop with friends and neighbors. Granville through the Open Space Program has protected over 2100 acres of land in Granville and Granville Township. Corn and Soybean are still strong in Granville along with some cattle farmers. Granville has a diverse Agriculture industry that includes livestock, soybeans, corn, wheat, vegetables, fruit, berries, nurseries and greenhouses.
