Visit the playground area at Reinhart Volunteer Park and read the Pop-Up Storybook Walk, sign up for the Summer Reading Program, and get exclusive giveaways from 11 am–12 pm on Friday, June 26 in partnership with the City of Grants Pass Parks & Recreation.
A Storybook Walk is an outdoor reading experience with the “pages” of the book placed in different areas along a path. Families are encouraged to take a stroll and read the featured story at their own pace.
This year we’re featuring short stories written and illustrated by children from across Josephine County, and inspired by the prompt, “One day, I planted a magical seed and…”
Submissions were collected in January 2026 from elementary-school-aged children and a selection of 15 one-page stories were chosen to feature. All submission forms will be on display indoors at all four library branches and in an online gallery during the Summer Reading Program.
