Details:
Experience movie magic the way audiences did a century ago at Silent Cinema, a special series of outdoor film nights at Stuhr Museum. Perfect for families, date nights, or an evening out with friends, Silent Cinema invites guests to enjoy classic silent films under the summer sky while exploring entertainment from a different era.
Our first screening features Buster Keaton's One Week, Walt Disney's Steamboat Willie, and a historic newsreel from 1934, with a total runtime of approximately 45 minutes. Before the films begin, families can enjoy hands-on activities inspired by the movies, and the Silver Dollar will be open with popcorn and other snacks available for purchase.
Films begin at dusk (around 7:30-8 pm). The museum grounds will remain open for the screening, but exhibit buildings and exhibits not associated with Silent Cinema will close at 8:00 pm.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and settle in for an unforgettable evening of classic entertainment under the stars!
