Details:
Join us for the summer installment of our 2026 Lecture Series, "Renewing Your Green Space with Native Texas Plant Landscaping," featuring Christopher Morris, Urban Biologist with Dallas Park and Recreation. Chris will discuss the drawbacks of non-native plants commonly used in landscaping, their negative impact on the environment, and the benefits of replacing them with native Texas greenery. As part of this timely topic, he will highlight initiatives like Audubon's Plants for Birds, emphasizing the advantages of planting native species for both the environment and local wildlife.
Chris has been the Park Biologist for the City of Dallas since May 2023, with a rich background in environmental quality and sustainability, including roles focused on water quality education and community engagement. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from Texas A&M and has extensive experience in tree planting, vegetation management, and wildlife education.
Attendees will enjoy one complimentary adult beverage (for those 21 and up), light snacks, and a 20% discount on select gift shop items. Tickets are available for a $10 minimum donation, with any additional contributions appreciated to support our mission of protecting birds and their habitats for future generations. A virtual option is also available for participation.
