Honoring Service Through Care: Home Care Benefits for Eligible Veterans
The Rotary Club of San Dimas welcomes Lauren Torres of Visiting Angels Glendora as our featured speaker on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, via Zoom. Lauren will discuss valuable Veterans Administration (VA) benefits and services available to veterans and their families, with special emphasis on programs that can help eligible veterans remain safely and comfortably in their own homes.
Founded in 2002, Visiting Angels Glendora has been a trusted provider of non-medical home care services throughout the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding communities, including San Dimas. The organization was established to address a growing need for seniors to receive compassionate care while maintaining their independence at home. Over the past two decades, Visiting Angels Glendora has served more than a thousand seniors and provided employment opportunities for thousands of caregivers.
During her presentation, Lauren will explain how qualifying veterans may now receive home care services that are fully covered through VA benefits. Many veterans and their families are unaware of these programs and may be missing opportunities to access assistance at little or no cost. The presentation will help attendees better understand eligibility requirements, available resources, and the process for obtaining benefits.
In addition to discussing VA programs, Lauren will provide an overview of the services offered by Visiting Angels, including companionship, transportation, meal preparation, medication reminders, personal care assistance, light housekeeping, and support for individuals living with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses.
