Gabriel Sanchez Carpio: Cuero | Appell Arts Fellowship Exhibition

Join us for the Appell Arts Fellowship and Powder Mill Foundation Arts Fellowship exhibitions, featuring works by Gabriel Sanchez Carpio and Marcos Repollé from June 4 to July 4, 2026. Gabriel Sanchez Carpio's series "Cuero" offers a captivating exploration of Caribbean cultural syncretism, presenting a tension between everyday life and the mystical through narrative painting. Meanwhile, Marcos Repollé showcases a multimedia exhibition that reflects his diverse artistic pursuits. Both artists will have their opening receptions on June 5 from 5 to 9 p.m., with an artist talk for Carpio on June 4 at 5 p.m. and for Repollé on June 12 at 5 p.m. These exhibitions mark the culmination of their 11-month artist residencies following their graduation from York College.
