The Downtown Belmont Development Association (DBDA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the economic, aesthetic, and cultural environment of historic downtown Belmont, NC. Established in 2015 by the Belmont Main Street Program, the DBDA acts as an agent to raise funds and apply for grants to support revitalization efforts. The organization focuses on enhancing businesses and aesthetics across three distinct districts: the Historic Downtown District, Chronicle District, and East End District. The DBDA hosts and plans various community events throughout the year, such as concert series, holiday festivals, and "Shop Small" weekends, all aimed at bringing vitality and engagement to the downtown area. Their mission is to foster a vibrant downtown offering diverse experiences, including outdoor recreation, dining, and family-friendly entertainment, while supporting a growing collection of independently owned businesses and entrepreneurial development. The DBDA's work is guided by a volunteer-driven board and supported by community stakeholders and volunteers.
