Details:
In conjunction with the special exhibition On Assignment: Dallas Times Herald 1963, The Sixth Floor Museum welcomes former United Press International reporter Joe Carter for a public program reflecting on the role of the press during the events of November 22, 1963.
Mr. Carter, who was serving as an overnight editor for UPI’s Southwestern Division, was aboard a White House press bus in President John F. Kennedy’s Dallas motorcade when shots were fired in Dealey Plaza. In the chaotic hours that followed, Carter became part of the national effort to report, verify and transmit breaking news as events unfolded across Dallas Love Field Airport, Downtown Dallas and Parkland Memorial Hospital. Learn and understand what it meant to cover a national tragedy as it happened.
$15 program tickets gain admission to the program only. $25 program tickets will include admission to the sixth-floor exhibition, John F. Kennedy and the Memory of a Nation and seventh floor special exhibition On Assignment: Dallas Times Herald 1963.
Museum members receive discounted ticket pricing. Contact membership@jfk.org to learn more.
