The Curtis Homestead Conservation Area, located in Leeds, Maine, is a 360-acre property managed by the Kennebec Land Trust (KLT). This area, formerly the childhood home of Governor Kenneth M. Curtis, showcases forest succession patterns and features fields, woodlands, wetlands, and over three miles of hiking trails. KLT hosts various educational programs here, focusing on sustainable forestry, land conservation, and local history, with activities ranging from forestry field days to winter recreation. The area also provides opportunities for nature observation and birding.
