VA250 Car Project at the Mall

Join us at the mall in Center Court from August 6-11 for the VA250 Car Project, featuring the stock car that broke the official land speed record at 253 miles per hour, surpassing the previous record of 244.9 mph set in 2007. This remarkable vehicle, known as the "Martinsville Missile," is part of a national motorsports and engineering initiative commemorating Virginia’s 250th anniversary and aims to honor the goal of reaching 250 mph. Built in Martinsville, Virginia, the car's engine, constructed by renowned builder Joey Arrington—who also created the engine for the record-setting Dodge Charger—will be on display. Join us for an interactive experience with driving simulators and meet Joey Arrington himself on Saturday, August 8th from Noon to 4 PM. Don't miss out on this exciting event for all ages!
