Join us for "Story by Story: Gretchen Peterson," a captivating monthly series for adults and teens where storytellers from across the nation share narratives that reflect diverse cultures, beliefs, and experiences. Each performance lasts 45-60 minutes followed by a 30-minute discussion, with an American Sign Language interpreter available at all events. This session features storyteller Gretchen Peterson, who will present her original work "Just What Did Happen on Mary’s Date?" featuring three stories: Mary, Romance & Juliet, and Stacy, exploring the rich tapestry of women's love for women through her imaginative narratives.
Gretchen, originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, has spent most of her adult life in Portland, Oregon, with historical ties to Kentucky through her maternal great-grandparents. An accomplished storyteller since joining the Portland Storytellers Guild in 2014, she expresses her creativity through writing, drawing, painting, calligraphy, and storytelling focused on personal tales, original folktales, and myths. Gretchen has performed in notable festivals and conferences, showcasing her unique voice as a "Fringe" Storyteller at the 2024 National Storytelling Network Conference.
This event is sponsored by the Kentucky Storytelling Association and PSPL.
