Details:
The Norwood Recreation Department offers comprehensive swim lessons that align with the American Red Cross Swim Lesson Programs, providing a safe and comfortable learning environment for all participants. Lessons are designed to help students adjust to the water and progressively develop essential swimming skills. Parents can observe from behind a surrounding fence, as they are not permitted in the swim area. Classes occur regardless of weather conditions, except during thunder and lightning, with no make-up sessions available.
Level 2 focuses on preschool swim lessons as an introduction to water safety, teaching children essential skills such as waiting for adults, entering water safely, and understanding different water depths. This level aims to empower young swimmers to feel comfortable in the water while learning with an instructor.
Level 3 builds on the skills developed in Level 2, enabling children to increase their endurance and perfect their swimming techniques. At this level, participants will frequently practice Breaststroke and Butterfly, enhancing their overall swimming proficiency. Before registration, it is important to carefully read the lesson descriptions to ensure proper placement in the program.
