Calling all 25th Ave Farmers' Market kids and their families!
Join the POP Club at the 25th Avenue Farmers' Market every Tuesday in June for fun, hands-on activities that teach kids about where their food comes from, how it's grown, and why eating fresh is important. Each week brings a new adventure - here's what's coming up:
June 2 - Eat the Rainbow
Different fruits & veggies are different colors, and therefore have different nutritional super powers! Learn about how to design a plate of yummy food as beautiful as the rainbow.
June 9 - How Many Miles
Our food goes on a journey to get to us - from the farm where it's grown to the farmers market where it's sold! Learn more about how far your produce travels!
June 16 - Fresh vs. Dried
What are the differences in taste & texture, and why do farmers dry their fruit each season? Try some of what's in season & learn about different produce preservation methods!
June 23 - Food Rescue Heroes
Calling all POP Club superheroes! Eat your fruits & veggies, even when they may not look perfect. Learn about food waste, how to prevent it, and the value of saving imperfect produce.
Open to families with kids 12 and under (parental supervision is required)
