Details:
Join us for the 31st Annual Summer String Camp at the Purdue Fort Wayne Music Center from June 22 to June 26, designed for aspiring young string players, including violin, viola, cello, and bass students with at least two years of instruction. Directed by Emelinda Acosta from the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the camp provides a week of immersive learning through full string orchestra sessions, chamber ensembles, and skill-building classes led by professional musicians. Students will expand their repertoire and enhance their technique in a motivating environment, culminating in a recital to showcase their progress.
Additionally, for beginners who have recently started playing the violin (within the last 6-12 months), we offer the Twinklers class, running concurrently. This introductory class focuses on essential skills such as bow and violin hold, left hand flexibility, and rhythm through group instruction.
The Summer String Camp sessions are from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. ($325) and the Twinklers class from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. ($125). Join us for a week of music, learning, and collaboration!
