Barn Quilt Painting
Tuesday, July 21
1:00 – 4:00 pm
Witt Building at The Learning Fields
Join instructor Hilda Ross for a fun and creative Barn Quilt Painting Class on Tuesday, July 21, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. in the Witt Building at The Learning Fields at Chaffee Crossing. The cost is $25 (pre-paid), and all materials are included. The class is limited to 12 participants. Please contact Dianne Heinrichs at (479) 462-8400 to register.
During this hands-on workshop, Hilda will teach participants how to measure and draw a traditional quilt block pattern on a one-foot square wooden panel. She will also demonstrate the enjoyable process of mixing paint colors to create vibrant, eye-catching designs. By the end of the class, each participant will take home a completed barn quilt and gain the skills and confidence to create larger barn quilts for their home or garden.
Barn quilts have become increasingly popular across the country, including in Arkansas. More than 700 barn quilts are featured on the Arkansas Quilt Trails, and many states have organized self-guided barn quilt trails that celebrate local art, history, and agriculture. Finished barn quilts make beautiful outdoor décor and can be displayed on barns, fences, sheds, garden structures, or even leaned against a tree to add a colorful focal point to your landscape.
