"AMERICA250: From Our Roots to the Future" opens Friday, July 3 in the Grand Atrium, and every piece in it earned its spot.
Artists from across the community submitted work interpreting what America's 250th birthday means to them. History and heritage, identity, national symbols, social progress, visions of what's still ahead — the theme was wide open, and the range of work reflects it. Traditional, conceptual, experimental, all of it living together under the Atrium's soaring architecture.
The result isn't one point of view. It's a room full of them, and that's exactly what makes it worth walking through slowly.
Premieres Friday, July 3, 6-10PM. On display through July 30.
