The Whaley Historic House Museum is the historic home of the Whaley family, who resided in the home from 1885 - 1925. Newly restored following a devastating fire in 2015, The Whaley Historic House Museum preserves the house endeavors to continue the legacy of benevolence, collaboration, and civic-mindedness of the McFarlan-Whaley family. Come learn about the importance of the Whaley family to the development of Flint and gain a deeper appreciation and understanding for our shared cultural heritage and history! The Whaley Historic House Museum is open year-round and offers regularly scheduled and special programming and events, as well as public guided tours on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, with the exception of holiday weekends. Admission is free during our open hours, courtesy of the Greater Flint Arts Council Share Art Genesee Grant Program made possible by the Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage funds. Your tax dollars are at work! We are also happy to offer guided tours to individuals and groups by appointment, during the week. Please call (810)-238-7228 or e-mail (director@WhaleyHouse.com) to schedule an appointment. Admission prices for private tours vary so please contact us for more details!
