What a Tangled Web We Weave by Jacki Bruce
Pop Up Exhibit July 3rd - 27th
To create one’s own world takes courage.” — Georgia O’Keeffe
Like life, art moves through many textures—soothing and sweet, soft and dramatic, rough and challenging. Each gesture is made with intention, though the outcome is never guaranteed. Sometimes things fall into place; other times they resist. This work reflects that tension. The push and pull between control and surrender. The beauty found in imperfection. The quiet persistence it takes to keep going.
We are all, in our own ways, weaving—searching for balance, for harmony, for meaning within the tangle.
About the Artist
Growing up on a farm influenced Jacki at an early age , with the appreciation of nature and all its glory .Graduating from college with a commercial diploma set the stage even more. Creativity has always been part of her world. After attending a beginners pine needle workshop at Selkirk College Trail Campus in the early 2000’s , she dove deep into teaching herself what this medium could do. Leaning towards the contemporary side of basketry she enjoys blending traditional stitches and elements with a contemporary influence.
