The Wednesday Socials are back and we couldn't be more excited!
This free community event welcomes everyone to Station Square to enjoy live music and be social.
The beverage garden will be stocked with Fernie Brewing Beer, Cider and BC wine. Make sure to bring your ID in order to get a wristband for 19+ attendees. The event starts at 5.30pm with Support Act, food trucks and craft activities for the kids.
HEADLINER: Hyaenas
Hyaenas is a Vancouver-based Indie Alt-Pop band known for their fierce energy, authentic connection, and a sound that blends ’80s nostalgia with modern production, pulsing synths, gritty guitars, and emotionally charged lyrics. Drawing comparisons to The Go-Go’s and The Beaches, their music explores the complexities of human nature with equal parts boldness and vulnerability.
Since debuting alongside The Pack A.D. in 2021, Hyaenas has built a reputation for electrifying live performances across Canada. Their 2023 EP Little Trophy sparked sold-out hometown shows, festival appearances, showcases at Canadian Music Week, support slots for Kimmortal, ACTORS, and Shred Kelly, and performances at Pride events nationwide. The EP reached #11 on the National !Earshot Charts, landed a sync placement in Netflix’s My Life with the Walter Boys, and has surpassed 160,000 streams.
Now, the band is entering a new chapter with their forthcoming full-length album, Human Nature. Across ten tracks, Hyaenas tackles burnout, gender politics, self-doubt, and resistance to the status quo, creating an album that is both cathartic and empowering. Comprised of two married couples—dubbed “Lesbian ABBA” by CBC—Hyaenas continues to carve out a space of their own with songs that hit hard and linger long after the last note.
SUPPORT ACT: Lost Decade
Lost Decade is a Calgary-based synthwave band with a love for timeless music. Members Derek Leugner and Brandon Smith’s earliest ideas came to life after hours at the Cantos Music Centre, where the glow of vintage keyboards and synths set the stage for their sound. Joined by vocalist Chenelle Roberts with classical, blues, and Caribbean roots, they craft soulful synth-driven sounds inspired by the energy of 80’s and 90’s music.
