Take inspiration from Katrina’s pop-up show TINY MOMENTS as she guides you in transforming simple marks into infinite patterns built from tiny blocks! In this hands-on workshop with local printmaker Katrina Lukianchuk, the focus is all about pattern-making... exploring how repetition, rhythm, and small carved elements can come together to create bold, beautiful designs. No experience? No problem! This beginner-friendly class introduces the fundamentals of printmaking and stamp carving, with an emphasis on building patterns step by step. All materials are included, just bring your imagination and leave with your own custom-made stamp set, ready to create patterns on notebooks, gift wrap, cards, and more.
The possibilities grow with every repeat, don’t miss an evening of playful exploration in pattern, rhythm, and design!
About the Instructor
Katrina is a self-taught artist and has been practicing printmaking for the past 7 years. With a background in wildlife biology, she has always been fascinated with nature and her curiosity about the natural world inspires her art. She enjoys integrating nostalgic, abstract, and whimsical elements into her work, and takes pleasure in finding beauty in unexpected places. In addition to her current obsession with linocut, Katrina has always had a passion for drawing and likes to experiment playing with a variety of mediums. Katrina lives in Fernie with her partner and her pup and enjoys observing, exploring, and playing in the mountains all year round.
