Summer Opening Day 2026

Fernie Alpine Resort opens for daily operations on June 25th.
The Elk Chair is open daily, and the Timber Chair is open weekends and statutory holidays.
There's something for every type of adventurer at Fernie Alpine Resort in summer. Enjoy lift-accessed mountain biking, scenic hiking trails, and alpine sightseeing. Families can visit the Elk Grove Forest Playground or learn about local wildlife and ecology at Nature Bob's Interpretive Centre. Younger guests can explore the mountain through the Lizard Rangers Kids Camps, while riders of all levels can build their skills in Mountain Bike Camps or private lessons.

SEASON INFORMATION
Elk Chair
Open daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Extended hours until 7:00 pm every Tuesday and Thursday
Timber Chair
Open weekends and statutory holidays (July 1, August 3, September 7) from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Please Note
The Timber Chair will be closed July 11 and 12 during the Canada Cup Downhill Race.
The Elk Chair will remain open to the public throughout the event weekend.
