THE MISSION: The mission of Church of the Open Door is to evangelize, disciple, and equip each person to discern and fulfill the personal ministry God designed for them. CORE BELIEFS: Church of the Open Door bases its faith upon the Bible which we recognize as the inerrant Word of God. It is our conviction that only God's Word gives us truth by which to live. THE SCRIPTURES: We believe that the Bible, complete in its 66 books, is inspired by God. THE TRINITY: We believe there is one God who eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST: We believe that the Lord Jesus is the only Son of God, true God and true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, buried, and resurrected. He ascended into heaven where He is now our advocate. MAN: We believe man was created in the image of God, but has become dead in sin, with Christ as the only exception. SALVATION: We believe that to enter the kingdom of God, one must be born again. Salvation comes only through faith in Christ. THE CHURCH: We believe that all who are united by faith to Christ are members of the true Church. THE SECOND COMING: We believe the next great event in prophecy will be Christ returning for His own. ETERNITY: We believe that at death those who have trusted Christ go immediately into His presence to await the resurrection, but the souls of the unbelieving remain in misery until the final judgment when they will be cast, soul and body, into the lake of fire.
