What is mediation?
~ A process involving:
~ Two or more parties involved in dispute or legal disagreement
~ Meeting in a private and confidential place with mediator to help resolve the issues
~ A mediator who is neutral, certified, and trained to help promote honest communication to assist
parties to come to a mutually acceptable agreement
What are the benefits of mediation?
~ More control over the outcome of the dispute
~ Equal say in the process
~ Preservation of relationships
~ Fosters compromise
