Museum Exhibit Grand Opening - “In Search of a Homeland: The Journey of the Germans from Russia”

Join us for the Grand Opening of the new permanent exhibit, “In Search of a Homeland: The Journey of the Germans from Russia,” at the Germans from Russia Heritage Collection. This open house event invites visitors to explore the compelling history of this distinct ethnic group through a variety of displays, including historical photographs, artifacts, maps, audio, video, and interactive experiences. Key themes of migration, faith, family, community, hardship, and the quest for a homeland will be highlighted. Attendees can also learn more from booths hosted by the NDSU Press, Tri-County Tourism Alliance, Friends of the Welk Homestead, Emily Reynolds Historic Costume Collection, NDSU Archives, and the Institute for Regional Studies. Enjoy kuchen and coffee while uncovering the powerful stories of early North Dakota settlers whose culture shaped our state. Parking is available in T-Lot.
