Join us for **The CORA Foundation Community Conversation with Ellen Harvey and Dan Woog**, an evening inspired by MoCA\CT's summer exhibition, *Looking for History*, featuring Ellen Harvey's work, *The Disappointed Tourist*. This special event will delve into themes of memory, loss, and place, encouraging participants to reflect on spaces that have shaped and vanished from our community.
Moderated by journalist and 06880 founder Dan Woog, the conversation includes an interview with artist Ellen Harvey and Ed Gerber, a preservation advocate from Historic New England. They will discuss the cultural significance of lost places, ranging from global landmarks to cherished Westport establishments. Harvey's four new paintings—The Remarkable Book Shop, Cedar Brook Cafe, Bloodroot, and Allen’s Clam House—will serve as focal points for broader dialogue.
The program will feature presentations from community members about their own “lost places,” enhancing the discussion with personal narratives. Woog will also unveil awards in categories like “Gone Too Soon” and “What a Cool Hangout!” followed by an audience vote to recognize a favorite missed location.
