Details:
The ODNR Division of Geological Survey invites Ohioans to participate in Earth Science Summer in celebration of America 250 and the Collaborative Summer Library Program’s 2026 theme: “Unearth a Story.”
Join the ODNR Division of Geological Survey and Ohio History Connection for an Open House event at Flint Ridge State Memorial. Visitors will engage in hands-on activities at the pavilion and get a chance to visit the museum free of charge. Throughout the day, accessible guided tours co-led by a geologist and a historian will take participants through the preserve to see ancient pits left by American Indians who came from the surrounding area to quarry flint.
Participants should dress appropriately for this outdoor event and are encouraged to wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and have plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray.
The event is free and open to all ages.
