Fall Play: Antigone

C., Sophocles’ Antigone carries a timely tale of divided loyalties. When Antigone’s brothers kill each other in battle, one fighting for the Theban government and one against, the Theban ruler issues a decree: the body of the traitorous brother will be left to rot on the battlefield, and anyone caught trying to bury his corpse will be executed. Antigone and her sister must decide whether to honor the gods by burying their brother or submit to the new ruler of Thebes.
