Details:
Chicago-based bluegrass outfit Andy Miller & The 145s were brought together over a series of bar gigs in 2022. Their nicely overlapping opinions about what bluegrass music ought to sound like quickly resulted in a musical rapport and a drive to write and record. Bluegrass as a musical style was originally created from diverse ingredients, distilled through Bill Monroe’s vision and sense of how a string band creates rhythm. Their debut recording, Port Of Indiana, carries that tradition forward, drawing from a variety of musical styles and presented in a format true to not only the instrumentation, but also to the feel of a bluegrass band.
Andy Miller – mandolin, vocals
Elizabeth Loring – upright bass, vocals
Laird Patten – banjo
John Huber – guitar
