**Lace and Literature: Sapphic Book Club**
Join us for "Lace and Literature," a monthly Sapphic book club dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ historic fiction that inspires, empowers, and captivates. Our meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
For the third quarter of 2026, our book selections are:
- **July 30:** *A Sweet Sting of Salt* by Rose Sutherland, a queer reimagining of the classic folktale The Selkie Wife.
- **August 20 (date change!):** *The Color Purple* by Alice Walker, which explores resilience, love, and liberation in the life of an early 20th-century African American woman.
- **September 24:** *Last Night at the Telegraph Club* by Malinda Lo, set in 1950s San Francisco, following a Chinese American teenager navigating identity, love, and societal expectations within the hidden world of a lesbian bar.
This is a free event with a suggested donation of $5. We also welcome book recommendations, which can be submitted via our Google Form. Join us in exploring these powerful stories!
